Wild Goat Hunting Safaris
Australia Wide Safaris operate their Wild Goat safaris on North Goulbourn Island. This island is situated north east of Carmor Plains and offers some of the highest wild goat populations and biggest trophies in Australia.
This completely deserted island is inhabited only by wild goats. There are no predators or other mammals on the island. Thus the population and trophy size has grown unchecked over the years. We take exceptional trophies from the island each year ranging from 33 – 40+ inches (80-100cm). The biggest to date having a spread of 44 inches (110cm).
Transport
To access the island we travel either by private air charter (light aircraft or helicopter) direct from Carmor Plains to the island. The flight is 45- 60 minutes. We depart in the morning and take a packed lunch then return in the late afternoon as there is no accommodation or even any other human inhabitants on the island!
hunting Season
The hunting season is year round, however the best times are from April until the end of November. Temperatures during these times vary from 14 degrees at night to 35 degrees in the heat of the day.
