-
Fantastic bull taken by Danish hunter Mr Hans Henrik Hornum in November. Taken with my double rifle in 9.3×74 at close range.
-
A row of Barnes TSX bullets from a 375H&H;, 300 grains. Perfect performance on buffalo every time!
-
Great old bull taken by Tim Goodfellow in November.
-
Sheree hunted this unusual but impressive buffalo cow with her 9.3×62 Mauser custom rifle. It is a great trophy.
-
Phil Mansell hunted this nice buffalo bull with his 375 H&H; in November
-
This buffalo is one hell of a big bull! Easily 105 SCI
-
This old buffalo cow’s horns are growing right back around into neck. She is probably over 20 years old.
-
Don Carrington USA took this fine buffalo bull in May in thick bush. He took a hell of a beating, more than 10 shots from a 375 H&H; and a 470 NE.
-
Greg Retschlag took this big buffalo cow in May with his Ruger single shot 375 H&H;
-
Greg Retschlag and his wife Anne with a fine big old buffalo bull, taken with his single shot 375 H&H.;
-
Dr Vittorio Antonacci USA took this big buffalo bull in April
-
This young buffalo bull has great potential. Possibly only 6-7 years old, he will be a massive bull in another 2 years with a 45-50 inch spread.
-
This bull is showing an aggressive stance. His head is held slightly higher than normal. Also you can literally see the anger in his eyes. He is irritated we are in his territory. A charge is possibly at this point.
-
In the time taken for this next photo he has begun his charge. His head is slightly lowered and he is 100% focused on me. His eyes and swishing tail show his irritation. But this was only a bluff charge and he veers off at 20 yards from us. A buffalo bull with the right (or wrong!) frame of mind will commit completely to his charge at under 20 yards. Enough time for both barrels with a double rifle. With a bolt rifle at 20 yards or less, you have only enough time for 1 accurate shot. Don’t waste it!!
-
Mr Charlie Meyer, USA took this great old buffalo bull out on the Carmor Plains in June
-
This bull is extremely irritated at our presence by throwing mud up into the air!
-
The bull appears to be standing still in this frame, but all the grass and mud that he has just thrown up is suspended in the air momentarily! This bull is pissed!
-
Now the bull turns to face us. He is even more irritated than ever. Notice the head is held high but the nose is pointed downward. This shows his horns off better and is part of his attempt to intimidate his opponent… us in this case! But on this day, he turns and runs off, he was all bluff!
-
A great bull taken by Kevin Walkup with a double rifle on the huge plains of Carmor. Note the bull still feeding behind me to the right, this plain is covered in big bulls!
-
This huge old droop horned cow is a rare trophy. The day of this photo, we were only armed with a camera. It was 6 months later before we caught up with this sneaky old buffalo again.
-
Nice bull on the plains with a tight curl. This type of buffalo scores well for SCI.
-
A young bull warily approaches us. With his nose out… this stance is a common approach when they are trying to catch your scent, plus they can hear more easily like this.
-
Mr Don Miller from the USA took this lovely sweeper bull with a double rifle 9.3×74
-
Mr Brandon Ivie USA took this massive high scoring bull, 104+SCI. The bases on these horns were 19+ inches, they don’t get much thicker.
-
Big bodied bull taken by US hunter Mr Myron Burke. Shot was taken at 20 yards in thick bush.
-
This impressive bull is trying to get our scent. Whilst he is wide already (48+ inches), he is quite young. You can tell he is young from his horns, but also from his lower teeth that are showing. An older bull has a lot smaller teeth that are worn down.
-
Picture perfect… a great buffalo bull and a great Australian sunset!
-
This is a huge bull. 50 inches wide, great mass all the way along the horns and the horns tips curl back quite a long way as well. This bull is close on the magic 110 SCI points.
-
Myron Burke, USA with a huge bull 52 inches wide and 109 SCI. They don’t come much bigger.
-
My 470 NE Verney Carron boxlock with a beautiful buffalo bull

John Jensen from Denmark took this old bull with a tight curl in September
-
Mr John Jensen’s buffalo, before we hunted him. It is not always easy to stalk up close to game on the open plains
-
2 buffalo bulls feeding. The one on the right is very big.
-
Great buffalo bull standing out in the water on Carmor Plains

Derek Stimpson from the UK with a great old buffalo bull shot on the edge of thick bush after he charged. Derek used my lovely old Westley Richards in 404 Jeffery to stop the bulls charge.
-
Larry Pechal USA with a great bull of around 99SCI. Larry shot the bull multiple times with my 470 NE! Sometimes they are tough, damn tough!
-
A big buffalo bull and 3 hunters all with double rifles… a splendid day out on the plains! Chuck Kopocis, USA, (on the right) took this bull with my 9.3×74 double rifle. The other 2 are just trying to look important!
-
This is one of the toughest old bulls I have ever hunted. Mr Tom Bauer, Germany shot this bull 3 times with his 470. Then we followed him up with another 7 shots from a 375H&H; and then a further 2 from my 470 to finish the job.
-
Mr Carlo Engelbrecht from South Africa took this fine old bull one morning in August.
-
Mr Franz Hagemann, Germany/South Africa took this huge old bull in August with a 375 H&H;
-
Young buffalo bull feeding on the Carmor Plains. Look how much dry mud is caked on his skin. Any calibre under a 338 win mag without a quality projectile is asking for trouble.
-
Another nice young buffalo
-
Mr Thorke Vorderwisch Germany with a huge bodied bull. This bull will weigh more than 800kg.
-
Mr Vorderwisch with another buffalo. This old bull took off into the bush after solid shoulder shot. He ran no less than 500 metres with a fatal wound.
-
Young Lucas Tilgaard from Denmark took this buffalo out on the plains after a difficult stalk. This bull took several good hits with a 375 H&H.;
